David Russell

Biography

David Russell is a professor of engineering and Special Academic Assistant to the Chancellor at Penn State Great Valley. The Great Valley campus is exclusively devoted to graduate studies; Dr Russell was senior division head for Systems, Software Engineering and Information Science for 12 years at the campus prior to taking up his current position. Prior to Penn State he was VP for a systems integration corporation whose clients included Dupont, Frito Lay, Canada Cup etc. He has taught computer science and engineering and global aspects of IT since 1966. He lectures worldwide in IT and Graduate Education particularly focusing on applications to manufacturing and the medical profession. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers. He holds a baccalaureate degree in engineering and a PhD in real-time computer applications. He served as director of IT for the campus for several years and is a member of the senior executive team.
