Biography

Duncan Aldrich began his library career as international and state
documents librarian at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) in 1986. He
became head of the Government Publications Department in 1990, and head
of the combined Business & Government Information Center in 1994. He is
currently Data Services coordinator for the UNR libraries. Mr. Aldrich
has served as chair of the Government Documents Round Table's (GODORT)
Legislation Committee, the GODORT International Documents Task Force,
and the GODORT Publications Committee. In 1994 he was GODORT chair.
Mr. Aldrich participated in the DuPont Circle meetings in 1993, and
helped facilitate the Chicago Conference on the Future of Government
Information. He worked as an expert consultant for the Government
Printing office (1996/97), at which time he prepared the first draft of
"Managing the GPO Access Collection," a discussion document outlining
the electronic FDLP. Mr. Aldrich was a member of the Federal Depository
Library Council from 1997 through 2000, chairing Council in 1999/2000.
He was reappointed to Council in 2003. Mr. Aldrich was born in Elmira,
New York, received a BA in History from Ohio University in 1974, an MA
in History from the University of Oklahoma in 1976, and an MLIS from the
University of Oklahoma in 1985.
