Elaine Westbrooks

Biography

I Administrate and coordinate the long and short-term objectives for MLibraries support of the research enterprise. I serve as a member of the executive committee, contributing to strategic planning efforts, program development and assessment, budget formulation and allocation of resources in support of the Libraries’ mission. Represents the Libraries within the university, and on committees and forums at the state and national level. Previous positions include Associate Dean for Library Operations at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2008-2012) and the Head of Metadata Services at Cornell University (2000-2008). I authored Metadata in Practice with Diane Hillmann, in 2004 and have presented my research at Dublin Core, ALA, Lita, and CNI. I earned a B.A in Linguistics in 1998 and a Masters of Library and Information Science in 1999 from the University of Pittsburgh.
