Genti Lagji

Biography

Genti joined the University of LaVerne's Admission Operations Office in 2019. His current responsibilities include prioritizing and managing Admissions Operations’ data systems activities, providing recommendations to data collection and processing through workflow analysis, and collaborating closely with central IT on project management, testing, training, migration, and new functionality implementation.

In his previous role Genti, leaded a team of information technology professionals in providing application support to Auxiliary Enterprises at UMass Amherst. Some of the functions of his team included planning, developing and implementing cross-departmental business operation improvements utilizing business systems such as Point of Sale, Timekeeping, Sales and Catering, and Finance.

Genti has over 15 years of experience in IT. In earlier roles Genti was responsible for the comprehensive support and consulting services for a diverse user base of over 40K users, technology training, management of licensed software and packaging, hardware support and sales. Some of the activities included a Dell, Apple and Lenovo certified repair center, imaging and data recovery for university and personally owned equipment and in-depth software support for most higher education systems and software.

Projects that Genti led or was involved with include many campus-wide IT initiatives such as the deployment of the wireless network, the merger of Hardware Support, Software Support and Help Desk into User Services, transitioning from student staff to full-time staff in the Call Center, the migration to the eduroam network, and the deployment of a new email system interface.

Genti focuses on data-driven decision making and building collaborative teams. Genti obtained his Master of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and his thesis "Excess Return Estimate and Risk Factors in Hospitality Firms" focuses on finance and risk assessment.
