Hemalatha Manickavinayaham

Associate VP - Planning & Digital Transformation, California State University, Sacramento

Hema is currently employed with California State University - Sacramento (CSUS) as AVP for Planning & Digital Transformation. In this capacity she reports to CIO and leads a 28 member team in providing day to day operational leadership to the Project Management Office, Campus Applications and University Reporting Data Services teams and leading Digital Transformation Initiatives at CSUS.

Prior to this she has worked for 10+ years at Georgia Tech (GT) leading Adaptive implementation with Budget Office, Technology solutions for Administrative Services Center and ERP Implementation in Program Manager Capacity. She has over 24 years’ experience in Project Portfolio Management. She has handled large scale IT implementations in Telecom, Higher Education, Consulting and Consumer Packaging Goods industry that involves ERP (Banner, PeopleSoft, SalesForce, Workday), legacy applications, third party integrations such as DegreeWorks, Sunapsis, Banner Imaging, Concur, Courseleaf etc. and cloud based SAAS implementations. She is also experienced with using Design Thinking Methodology.

She led successfully the deployment of PeopleSoft 9.2 consolidation rollout in-midst of pandemic remotely to integrate Georgia Tech HCM Business Processes with University System of Georgia (USG) that includes all 26 institutions within Georgia.

She have also led a team of 5 project managers in providing Project Management services to Academic, Business, Identity Management, CRM and Distributed Applications. Hema participated in 2013 EDUCAUSE and delivered a poster presentation on evolution of GT Office of Information Technology's (OIT) Virtual Project Management Office (PMO). Hema also played a critical role in cross-functional OIT PMO task Force with finalizing PM guidelines & Project Prioritization Matrix. Recently Hema led Student Information Systems PM team and stakeholders in an effort towards streamlining their existing Governance Process and introduced a release based Governance initiative.

Prior to GT, Hema held various positions from Architect to Project & Program Manager with Wipro, Capgemini, AT&T and Coca-Cola. Hema has helped Atlanta Technology Development Center (ATDC) pre revenue startups with market research for their data security product and OneCare Inc., a private social media Health Management with valuation assessment.
