Biography
Ian McLeod is currently the CIO (Chief Information Officer) at Douglas College in Metro Vancouver, BC (Canada). In this capacity he is responsible for supporting an evolving learning and teaching environment and increasing demands for superior administrative information and systems. Prior to joining Douglas, Mr. McLeod served for 5 years as Director, IT Services at Camosun College in Victoria, BC, as well as 5 and half years as Director of IT Services at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), and as Director of Information Management Services at the School District #36 (Surrey), a position he held for 11 years.
A B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Regina and over 28 years of IT experience in several different industries bring a breadth and depth of knowledge on the impact of technology on business, and for the last 18 years, in the business of education.
Mr. McLeod also holds a Certified Computing Professional (CCP) designation from the Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP), and an Information Systems Professional (I.S.P.) certification from the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS). Ian has also recently completed the Chair Academy Leadership program. He is currently a board member of CIPS-BC, and a director of the David L. Squires Foundation, a non-profit organization offering bursaries to Canadian students in IT programs.
