Jim Young

Biography

James B. Young is Chief Learning Officer at the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He previously served as Chief of Staff for Library and Technology Services at Lehigh University where he was responsible for strategic planning, administrative services, advancement, facilities, and the budget. He was previously the founding Associate Vice President for Information Services at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology responsible for building and leading all technology and library services: voice and data communications, wired and wireless networks, enterprise computing, web services, classroom technologies, support services, faculty development, and student learning assessment. He teaches courses, mentors students, or guides interns in the areas of knowledge management, technology management and leadership, project management, and faculty development. He earned a Ph.D. at George Mason University, a master's degree at the University of Michigan, and bachelor's degree in at Michigan State University. Previously, he was employed for ten years at George Mason University where he led initiatives in curriculum development and integration, libraries, learning communities, and assessment.
