Biography

Joseph G. Tront is a professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech where he teaches courses in computer architecture, VLSI design and embedded systems. He is co-editor of the engineering collection in the MERLOT digital library and is the editor of the engineeringpathway.org digital library. He does research in bio-microelectronic sensors, computing system design, and on the use of technology in engineering education. He is currently studying the use of tablet PCs in the teaching/learning environment and is developing software tools and teachning techniques to improve the effectiveness of the use of these devices.
