Laurie Heacock

Biography

Laurie Heacock is the Vice President of  Data, Technology and Analytics at Achieving the Dream, Inc. In this role, she is responsible for managing the design, delivery, and evaluation of data and technology capacity building for Achieving the Dream network colleges and universities. Prior to joining Achieving the Dream, Laurie was the District Director of Institutional Research at Broward College, named one of the top ten community colleges in the nation by the Aspen Institute, and an Achieving the Dream Leader College. She also served for several years as a course mentor for the Association for Institutional Research Data and Decisions Academy. In addition to her current role at Achieving the Dream, Laurie served as a Data Coach for four years and coached six Achieving the Dream Colleges in six states: Alabama, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas. She also served as an iPASS coach. Laurie began her career in higher education at the College of Southern Maryland in institutional research and as an adjunct math instructor. She then spent nearly two decades at Anne Arundel Community College where she worked in institutional research, academic advising, applied research and information technology. She is a 2017 graduate of the League for Innovation Executive Leadership Institute and a graduate of the Leadership Anne Arundel flagship program. She has served as president of the Maryland Community College Research Group. Educational Background: Heacock holds a B.S. and M.A. in Psychology from James Madison University and has completed the coursework for a doctoral degree in Policy Sciences with a concentration in evaluation research from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
