Biography
Lynn Johnson is the Assistant Dean of Informatics and Innovation at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where she is responsible for leading the implementation of information technology into the traditional teaching and learning activities of the dental curriculum as well as into the clinical education and operations. She is an avid supporter of collaborative projects such as the University of Michigan's Digital Asset Managment System or DAMS. She is actively in the the new IT governance process at the university. She has had NIH funding to develop innovative educational simulations to teach clinical problem-solving and research skills to dental students. She is currently investigating the cost-effectiveness of haptic simulators to teach the tactile skills of dentistry. Lynn completed her Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology at the University of Iowa.
