Biography

Mary Ann Blair is the Director of Information Security at Carnegie Mellon. Working with an outstanding team of information security professionals, she is responsible for information security engineering and operations; incident prevention, detection, and response; policy and compliance; and training and awareness.

Prior to launching the Information Security Office, Mary Ann served as Director of Administrative Computing at Carnegie Mellon, leading various application development, systems integration, and systems maintenance projects over a fifteen year period.

Mary Ann is active in EDUCAUSE and its partner programs. She has served in numerous capacities including: EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Security Task Force: Policy and Law Subgroup; EDUCAUSE Program Committee; CUMREC Board of Directors; and others.

Mary Ann holds a B.S. in Psychology/Philosophy and a M.S. in Information Science, both from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
