Biography
Melissa serves as the Vice Provost for Information Services and Chief Information Officer at the University of Oregon.
She previously worked for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) providing general leadership and oversight for the central IT department responsible for campus enterprise and infrastructure services. Prior to UWM, she worked for the central IT organization at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, overseeing systems and operations.
Melissa, recipient of the EDUCAUSE 2012 Rising Star Award, is a Frye Leadership Institute Fellow, currently chairs the Advisory Group on Enterprise Information Systems and Services (AEGISS), and serves as a Senior Reviewer for EDUCAUSE Review Online. She served on the EDUCAUSE 2012 Conference Program Committee, and the EDUCAUSE Professional Development Advisory Committee, including a year as committee chair. She completed her PhD in Biophysics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and her Bachelor's degree in Biophysics at the University of California, Berkeley.
