Biography
Michael O'Connor is a web developer in the Enterprise Applications Web Services group at Rice University. He creates innovative software solutions for groups and individuals across campus, specializing in custom application design and development for the web. Michael is involved in user and development communities for several open source projects and is passionate about the web's ability to efficiently and effectively connect people with the information they need. His current interests include data collection, analysis, and visualization on the web, leveraging open software and APIs to create dynamic and robust applications, software development methodology and team performance, and the emerging possibilities for social media and mobile computing. Michael is also a graduate of Rice University, where he majored in Cognitive Science with an emphasis in psychology and computer science and was a member of the Computer-Human Interaction Laboratory.
