Michael Erskine

Biography

Michael A. Erskine, Ph.D. serves as the Director of the Educational Technology Center at Metropolitan State University of Denver. As Director of the Educational Technology Center at Metropolitan State University of Denver, Michael oversees all technologies found in physical learning spaces, leads numerous technology implementation projects, such as media storage and academic computing environments, and provides design guidance for various university-wide technology processes. He is a graduate of the Computer Science and Information Systems Ph.D. program at the University of Colorado Denver. His research interests include academic technology, technology management, disaster management and spatial decision support systems. His research has been presented at the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), the International Conference on Information Resources Management (ConfIRM), the IEEE Digital Ecosystems and Technologies Conference (DEST), and the International Conference on Project Management (ProjMAN). Additionally, his work has been published in the International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, the International Journal of Electronic Government Research and the Journal of Computer Information Systems. He is a member of the Association for Information Systems and the Association for Teaching and Learning Systems. Michael had served on the Board of Directors of Developing Minds Software. In addition, he has taught 22 courses at three institutions at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Topics for these courses have included business problem solving, operating systems and business web page development. In his spare time, Michael enjoys scuba diving, sailing, mountain biking and hiking.
