Mike Giarlo

Biography

Mike Giarlo is a software developer and a digital librarian, currently working for Stanford University Libraries as technical manager of the Hydra-in-a-Box project. His primary roles are designing technical architecture, developing sustainable software, and aligning the technical direction of the project with the broader open-source repository community. He has been working in library technology since 1999, holding systems and software positions primarily in support of digital libraries and repositories at Stanford University, Penn State University, the Library of Congress, Princeton University, the University of Washington, and Rutgers University. He earned both a bachelor's degree in linguistics and a master's degree in library and information science from Rutgers. He digs on APIs, AIPs, and IPAs.
