Biography
Renee Drabier, Ph.D. joined the University of North Texas Health Science Center in November 2008 in the newly created position of Vice President for Information Resources and Technology and Chief Information Officer. In September 2010, she was promoted to Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Development and CIO. In the newly created position at UNTHSC, Dr. Drabier is responsible for the Center for Learning and Development, the Library, Media Communication Services, Information Technology Services, Professional and Continuing Education, Interprofessional Practice, Online Education, Bioinformatics, and Health Information and Records Management. Prior to moving to Fort Worth, she joined the University of Connecticut Health Center in October 2005 as Assistant Vice President, Health Informatics and Associate Dean for Informatics, School of Medicine. Dr. Drabier was previously at Colorado State University-Pueblo where she served as Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and Chief Technology Officer for over seven years. Among her diverse responsibilities at Colorado State, she was responsible for administration of academic affairs, assessment, academic computing, video and multimedia services, web development, instructional technology, distance education, graduate studies coordination, strategic planning, and collaborative projects with other academic institutions. She served as a consultant to faculty and staff on use of technology in education, and has published widely in that area. Prior to her work at Colorado State, she served for fourteen years at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Renee has a Ph.D. in Distance Education and Educational Technology from Texas A&M University, an MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Bachelor degree in Music Education/Music Therapy from the University of Kansas.
