Rob is the Associate CIO for Academic Technology and User Services at Emporia State University. This position oversees many aspects of academic technology, including video production services; channel 8; course management systems support; multimedia development; training; videoconferencing and web conferencing support; help desk services; and end-user services related to supporting the academic mission. Prior to accepting the position at ESU, Rob worked at the University of Colorado - Denver where he served as the Manager of Academic Technology for CU Online. This position involved many of the same activities as ESU. Prior to accepting the position at CU Denver, Rob was the Director of Instructional Technology at a private university. Some of his accomplishments included critical upgrades to the course management system; introduction of ePortfolios; introduction of classroom response systems (clickers); introduction of Polycom videoconferencing systems; and upgrading the video and multimedia production facilities. Prior to accepting this position, Rob was the Manager of New Media at Wichita State University for 13 years. During this time he led the transition to web-based technologies and online learning. Rob has been awarded multiple grants; has several publications; and has conducted a variety of national presentations. He holds an Ed.D. in Instructional Technology and Distance Education, and multiple undergraduate and masters degrees.
