Biography
Dr. Scott E. Hamm is the Director of Mobile Learning Research at Abilene Christian University in the Adams Center for Teaching and Learning. Scott directs the mobile learning fellows research program and the integration of mobile technology in blended and online learning environments. He teaches in the residential and online programs and his research agenda focus is an evidence-based mobile learning pedagogy. He teaches workshops for the Sloan Consortium in their online teaching certification track and trains faculty to use design research and mobility to increase learning outcomes and student engagement.
Recent publications include a chapter in the Routledge Handbook of Mobile Learning and a forthcoming chapter in Mobile Pedagogy and Perspectives on Teaching and Learning, an IGI publication (In Press). He is directing a Next Generation Learning Challenge grant exploring Mobile Enhanced Inquiry Based Learning in STEM disciplines and teaches in the graduate Education program. Other publications include A mobile pedagogy approach to transforming learners and faculty, a chapter in the Routledge Handbook of Mobile Education (In Press) and Towards a mobile learning pedagogy, a chapter in Mobile Pedagogy and Perspectives on Teaching and Learning, an IGI publication (In Press). Other recent works include a chapter in Best Practices in the Integration of Faith and Learning for Adult and Online Learners by Triangle Press, Four Factors in Student Perception in Online Learning in the International Journal of Educational Leadership Preparation (IJELP), and Using Word Clouds for Reflection and Discussion in Journal of Teaching Theology and Religion.
