Dr. Sharjil M. Hasan leads the Project Management Office (PMO) in the Office of Information Technology at American University. He is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and ITIL v3 Certified with over 16 years of higher education experience in Information Technology and Information Systems. Prior to joining AU, Dr. Hasan served as a lead consultant at Datatel, Inc. (now Ellucian) for several colleges and universities nationwide. Dr. Hasan has taught at various institutions including American University, University of Maryland University College (UMUC), and Strayer University. Dr. Hasan teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Project Management, Information Security, Information Systems for Decision Making, Enterprise Architecture, Requirements Analysis and Advanced Systems Analysis & Design. Dr. Hasan earned his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering from George Washington University, an MBA from American University and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech. His areas of research includes Project and Portfolio Management, IT strategy and innovation.
