Biography
Sheri Stahler, Associate Vice President of Academic Computer Services and Information Technology at Temple University, holds an M.S. degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University, Whiting School of Engineering, and a B.S. in Business Education from the University of Maryland. In her position as Associate Vice President, she oversees more than 110 employees in various departments including Lab Operations, Campus and College Support, Instructional Support, Computer Seminars, Help Desk, Desktop/LAN Support, Integrated Systems and Emerging Technologies, Web Management and Development, and Communications and Technical Documentation. Ms. Stahlers current major initiatives include the implementation of a new Oracle-based portal, the development of a streaming media complex, the creation of a University-wide identity management system, the expansion of technology-enabled or smart classrooms, and the opening of 600+ workstation TECH Center in January 2006. In her previous role, Ms. Stahler had a successful track record as Director of Academic Services, administering a budget of $5.5 million for computing hardware, software, and personnel. She provided leadership for several high-profile projects relating to the successful implementation of Temples first portal, LDAP, and Blackboard Course Software Systems. Additionally, Ms. Stahler was a member of the 1994 National EDUCAUSE and 2004 Mid-Atlantic EDUCAUSE Planning Committees. She was recently recognized by Computerworld Magazine as one of the Premier 100 IT professionals for 2006.
