Tammy Clark was hired in September 2012 as Chief Information Security Officer at the University of Tampa. From 2000-2012, Ms Clark served as CISO at Georgia State University. Her information security program at GSU was ISO 27001 certified from 2008-2012, and she has a current initiative underway to certify the departments at the University of Tampa that are responsible for selecting, implementing, managing and governing information security and technology.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 is the only auditable international standard which defines the requirements for an information security management system (ISMS). The standard is designed to ensure the selection of adequate and proportionate security controls. ISO 27001 allows organizations to take a comprehensive approach to developing information security programs that addresses the challenges of 'people, process, and technology' and adopts a process approach for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining, and improving an organization’s Information Security Management System.

The Information Security Office at UT is positioned as a partner to the business, academic, and IT departments on campus. 'Defense in depth' is a combination of selecting and maintaining a robust security architecture and incident response program, promoting and managing effective risk management, data protection, and security awareness programs, and making continuous process improvements across the University in sync with strategic plans, goals and objectives.

Tammy has been a member of the Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC) since 2001, and is Co-Chair of the Information Security Guide Editorial Board. She also serves on the HEISC Leadership team and SANS HE Advisory Board.

Tammy is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a certified Information Security Management Systems Consultant/Auditor (ISO 27001), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP), Palo Alto Accredited Configuration Engineer (ACE), Information Technology infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations certified, and has dual Bachelor's degrees in MIS and Accounting from Cal State University, San Bernardino, California.
