Biography
The Associate Director Internal Auditing at Georgia Institute of Technology, Terry is actively involved in the full spectrum of campus Information Systems. As an Internal Auditor, Terry’s projects include the identify of risks and mitigation through improvements to policy, procedures, standards and best practices for various Information Systems. Recent efforts have concentrated on providing advisory services to units on information systems issues from data access, security and compliance with GBLA, FERPA, Patriot Act and other federally mandated programs impacting IT governance. He is a previous board member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Atlanta Chapter, an active member of the Information Security Systems Association (ISSA), and previous treasurer for the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association in Atlanta. Terry holds professional certifications as both Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP). A retired US Navy Commander, prior to Georgia Tech, Terry served at various times as a Surface Warfare Officer, C4I planner, Joint Services Officer and Security Affairs Officer with the US Navy.
