Biography

Asst. Prof. Themin Suwardy is the Associate Dean of the School of Accountancy at the Singapore Management University. SMU (www.smu.edu.sg) is Singapore’s 3rd public-funded university, established in 2000, in collaboration with The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (and subsequently Carnegie Melon University). Besides his teaching and administrative duties at the University, Themin is the faculty champion of the SMU “Virtual Canvas” project. The Virtual Canvas project leverages on new various technologies to create a “technologically-enabled learning experience” for our faculty and students. His other research interests include accounting education, financial reporting and analysis, strategic choice of IT investments and related accounting issues with emerging technologies and markets. Themin completed his PhD at Monash University (Australia) where he taught from 1996-2001 prior to joining SMU.
