Tsuneo Yamada

Biography

Tsuneo Yamada is a professor and the Chair of Department of Informatics, and a professor of Center for Open and Distance Education, the Open University of Japan (OUJ). He is also an adjunct professor of Department of Cyber Society and Culture at the Graduate University for Advanced Studies (SOKENDAI), an inspector of Japan Open Courseware Consortium (JOCW), a member of the board of directors, Accreditation Council for Practical Abilities (ACPA), Head of International Affairs Office, AXIES and a Deputy Secretary General, JMOOC. His main research fields are Educational Technology, Learning Psychology, and Second Language Learning. His current interests are on the development and evaluation of learning objects and MOOCs, the strategies for their sharing and distribution, and their quality assurance. He is participating in several Open Educational Resources (OER) movements, such as Global Learning Object Brokered Exchange (GLOBE) and OER Asia initiative.
