Vin Ialenti

Biography

Vincent S. Ialenti is Dean of Academic and Institutional Technology at Mount Wachusett Community College, Gardner, MA where he oversees the college's IT, media, and distance learning operations. Vin holds an A.B. from Providence College, an M.S. from Syracuse University, and an Ed.D. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. A long-time faculty member, Vin started the college's distance learning program in 1997 and has been teaching online courses for 12 years. In his technical and academic roles for the past 42 years in higher education, Vin's goal has been to encourage and support the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. Vin was one of the founding organizers of Massachusetts Colleges Online (now Mass Colleges and Universities Online) As a member of the organization's conference committee, Vin created, manages, and hosts the annual Courses of Distinction (COD Awards) track that recognizes outstanding and innovative online courses at the organization's eight annual conferences. In the past few years, Vin has presented at the NERCOMP Special Interest Group Blackboard conferences on incorporating new features in the learning management system and at the Maine Blackboard users Group. Among Vin's other resent presentations have been at the MCOnline conferences, EdTech Conferences at Bridgewater State College, The Council for Resource Development Region l, and The Massachusetts Community College Teaching and Learning Conferences.
