Biography

Chief  Information Officer and Executive Director of Technology Services, MIT Sloan School of Management

Wes Esser is an IT professional with 25 years of experience in higher education.  He has been at the MIT Sloan School of Management for 15 years, in the role of CIO for the last four years. He leads a team of 38 who provide a wide range of technology solutions and services to support the research and educational mission of the Sloan School.  Areas of professional interest include the technical evolution of the classroom, the development of the academic workplace of the future, and the importance of contextual technology training.

Prior to joining MIT Sloan in 2006, he spent four years at Babson College and more than five years at Northeastern University managing technology support and implementation.

Wes holds a B.A. in Art History and Italian Literature from the University of Massachusetts.
