Session Type: Teaching and Learning
Responding effectively and efficiently to student projects can be challenging. The scholarship of teaching urges faculty to provide feedback on assignments that is clear, timely, and context-specific, all while maintaining an appropriate tone. Given the time constraints placed on most academics, providing such feedback can be difficult. This session will demonstrate ways that technology (Building Blocks, online rubrics, commenting features, Camtasia, and audio) can (and can't) speed up the act of giving feedback, stop the wasting of unnecessary paper, and make feedback more understandable for students.
