LEAD APPLICATIONS SYSTEMS ANALYST The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston, a leading academic health sciences center located on the Texas Gulf Coast, is searching for highly motivated and enthusiastic candidates to join our Information Services Department. The Lead Applications Systems Analyst will support and develop transactional, web-based applications using classic ASP, ASP.NET, AJAX, VBScript, JavaScript, and HTML with MS-SQL database as a back-end. In addition to programming, this individual will be required to determine user requirements, analyze user workflow, design applications to meet workflow and user requirements, provide project management by coordinating delivery of applications to user, establish timelines, communicate project status, oversee user testing, write application support documentation, and coordinate the application rollout with server team, security, and training. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably computer science, (or equivalent work experience) and four or more years of related work experience. Note: Programming experience is a must. Non- programmers need not apply. Preferred work experience includes: Experience developing interactive Internet web sites using classic ASP, ASP.NET, AJAX, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML and SQL syntax with MS-SQL Server as a back-end for delivery of database driven dynamically generated web pages. Understanding and experience with the full application development life. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Self-motivated; able to prioritize work and build task list independently along with the ability to lead as well as work within a team.
