More information about Lafayette’s network design can be found at: http://ww2.lafayette.edu/~its/facilities/networkupgrade Responsibilities include: • Working with systems administrators and other network engineers to deliver network based services • Tuning the network for the highest level of availability, reliability, and performance • Monitoring the network using open-source and Cisco tools • Developing upgrade strategies/modifications based on monitoring observations • Developing and maintaining security policies • Availability for on-call emergencies and off-hours maintenance Requirements: • Superior knowledge of OSI and TCP/IP • Degree in computer science or electrical & computer engineering (preferred) • Knowledge of BGP, EIGRP, and MPLS (preferred) • Ability to work within a team and communicate effectively • Ability to solve problems creatively and adapt new technologies Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
