FAS IT Duties And Responsibilities: This position manages a small team that works with our clients to ensure that existing applications meet their needs, and to provide upgrades and new applications. Our applications are primarily custom web/database applications that serve faculty, staff and students throughout the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. This position will work closely with clients and developers to understand business requirements and design solutions. Will manage projects including helping prioritize and schedule efforts; maintaining project documentation, writing user documentation and communications, designing test plans, handling escalated support issues, and at times managing third-party partner and/or vendor relationships. Works with the service desk to help them provide quality support, and help trainers to develop a curriculum. This role should provide leadership in implementing industry best practices for software project management, as well as mentor and support other product managers. Candidates will need to have a strong technical background that enables them to understand the architecture of our applications, judge the feasibility of proposals, diagnose issues, judge compliance with security and accessibility requirements, and to communicate with developers effectively. The Administrative Computing Group is a group of 10 people within FAS IT: product managers, developers, database and systems specialists. This position reports to the Director of Administrative Computing. Required Education, Experience and Skills: B.A., 8+ years experience managing the delivery of technology solutions in a client centric organization. This should include business process analysis, project management, and 3 years of primary responsibility for managing client relationships. Experienced managing personnel including responsibility for performance management and career development. Excellent communication skills and technical writing ability. Ability to work with SQL on complex data models. Experience working with QA helpful. Additional Information: All formal offers will be made by FAS Human Resources. |
