Description:

Johnson & Wales University is seeking a well-qualified Online Learning System Specialist for its Office of Online Learning. This position will serve as the University’s learning management system administrator, maintaining the online learning platform (Angel) and related applications, and working with the online team, faculty, and IT in assessing and implementing appropriate technologies to support the effective implementation and ongoing use of technology-mediated learning at the University. The university is a private, non-profit accredited institution offering graduate and undergraduate degree programs to over 16,000 students at four campuses. Johnson & Wales offers over 50 programs in business, hospitality, technology, and culinary arts. The university is dedicated to preparing students for professional success through rigorous academics and professional skills, community leadership opportunities, and our unique career education model. The Office of Online Learning is located in the university’s offices at its Providence campus, and functions under the auspices of the Provost’s Office. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; experience working with learning management systems; strong working knowledge of SQL, HTML and CSS; familiarity with technical writing, including system documentation, technical requirements, and acceptance test creation; demonstrated awareness of educational technologies and the ability to effectively analyze and evaluate new technologies for potential applications in instruction.
