PLEASE NOTE: It is anticipated the starting salary will be between $4,314.00-$6,053.00/mo.

The IT@CSUEB management model is committed to operational excellence, establishing and maintaining highly responsive, helpful, supportive relationships, and open-minded, receptive collaboration - key ingredients for creating trust and multiple "wins" for the colleges, faculty, students, and staff. Within this framework, the Application Systems department of Information Technology Services develops and maintains the core software systems of the University, including PeopleSoft/Oracle, Blackboard, NetID/IMS, Data Warehouse, and other applications. The Data Warehouse Support Team within Application Systems provides for the administration, maintenance, development and security of the University's Data Warehouse systems.

This position will be one of the primary Data Warehouse analyst/programmers at CSU East Bay. Responsibilities include analyzing the design of the data warehousing systems and implementing best practices for interfaces, data and business object models, and the overall technical architecture; analyzing source systems, business rules and requirements; resolving data integrity issues and database design inconsistencies; designing, developing and maintaining Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes; Creating new reports using Cognos and other tools; migrating/maintaining old reports, applications and databases from the legacy warehouse systems; analyzing security/accessibility needs and implementing any changes; interacting with other campus groups to provide support for maintaining their existing and new projects.

REQUIRES:
Progressive, related experience of at least three or more years and graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in computer science or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to work relatively independently and possess the experience to be fully proficient in performing the above work assignments. Must be able to independently apply technical judgment to standard and non-standard applications and systems, solve a wide range of problems and development of practical and thorough solutions. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Three or more years of Brio/Hyperion, Crystal Reports, or Cognos business intelligence tools experience; two or more years ETL tools such as Cognos Data Manager or Oracle Warehouse Builder; experience using data flow diagrams, entity relation diagrams and data modeling tools; ability to work with end users to define requirements highly desired. Strong analytic, problem solving, root cause analysis, and debugging skills. Experience in higher education and familiarity with University business processes desired. Familiarity with Oracle database programming and administration; understanding of relational database theory and practice; PeopleSoft technical and functional experience preferred; logical problem analysis; and ability to learn new software.
