SENIOR WINDOWS SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR Job ID# 1066 SMU - ITS Systems This position will provide support for a variety of technologies such as Windows systems administration including scripting, host-based intrusion/prevention systems, and an enterprise instant messaging system. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. General Windows systems administration for various servers; 2. Implementation and support of host-based intrusion/prevent system; 3. Implementation and support of an enterprise instant messaging system; 4. Applying security updates for all associated software in a timely manner; 5. Documentation of all procedures, configurations, and changes; 6. Training and acting as a resource for other designated administrators. Requirements A Bachelors degree with a minimum six years work experience with Windows server administration, or ten years work experience with Windows server administration is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Must also be a self-starter with the ability to work in a collaborative environment with limited supervision. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of technical tools such as ADU&C, GPMC, IPSec, PKI, DFS, ADSI, monitoring tools, etc. Must also possess strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to solve complex problems crossing multiple disciplines and be a technical resource to others to resolve issues and implement projects. Experience with any of the following are a plus: account provisioning systems such as Microsoft Identity Lifecycle Manager, HP Insight Manager and iLO, terminal services, enterprise host-based intrusion systems, Microsoft Forefront, enterprise instant messaging systems such as Office Communications Server, Microsoft Exchange 2007, Internet Information Services, Windows Server clustering, and systems automation using VBScript or PowerShell. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apply: Priority consideration will be given to submissions received by July 24, 2008.
