SUMMARY Responsible for the planning, maintenance, and development of the University's administrative system (Datatel). Performs data extracts from the appropriate UniData (Colleague) data elements. Provides technical support for administrative software. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties as assigned. Installs software patches or software updates and upgrades to existing databases and web servers. Plans for and tests software updates, new releases, and new modules. Establishes user access and security classes. Writes and conducts testing of virtual fields or computed columns. Evaluates, troubleshoots and resolves routine user problems. Monitors database integrity and guards against the inappropriate alteration of data, with the knowledge of how to make non-standard modifications when appropriate. Moves all custom data elements to the LIVE account for production. Specifies user access level for each segment of one or more data items such as insert, replace, retrieve, or delete data. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in computer science or related field and 3 + years expereince working with administrative multi-user application systems required; candidates possessing an associates degree and 5+ years experience may be considered. Experience with Datatel Colleague/Benefactor or other relational data models or ERP systems required. Programming experience in Datatel’s Envision, C++, C# or Java is preferred. |
