2005 EDUCAUSE/Dartmouth PKI Deployment Summit

2005 EDUCAUSE/Dartmouth PKI Deployment Summit

July 25–27, 2005
Hanover, New Hampshire

EDUCAUSE and the Dartmouth PKI Lab are sponsoring a nuts-and-bolts meeting to dig into practically focused, real-life PKI deployment issues in higher education. Join us on the Dartmouth campus in scenic Hanover, New Hampshire, to:

  • Benefit from the valuable technical and policy experiences of others deploying client-side PKI in higher education.
  • Learn about and influence the implementation of higher education inter-institutional PKI trust fabrics (Higher Education Bridge Certification Authority and U.S. Higher Education Root).
  • Learn about EDUCAUSE-negotiated PKI vendor deals.
  • Find out how PKI bridges can enable grid resource sharing.
  • Hear about the federal government's far-reaching end-user PKI deployment plans.
  • Learn about different Certification Authority options from those who have successfully used them.
  • Network with others who are deploying PKI in higher education and elsewhere.

PKI is a critical technology to address higher education’s ever-increasing IT security requirements. Early adopters in higher education are finding that consulting and collaborating with each other are extremely helpful in minimizing the costs and hassles of deploying PKI. The PKI Deployment Summit seeks to facilitate this consultation and collaboration by bringing together PKI pioneers and committed early adopters and evaluators.

This Summit will help attendees learn how to harness PKI’s full potential for campus cybersecurity. It will provide practical policy and technical information and guidance, real-life implementation experiences from acknowledged experts, and ample opportunities to discuss and plan solutions for specific challenges and roadblocks with PKI vendors and practitioners from higher education and industry.
