* Beginning in 2011, CDS reports and communications use the year in which data were collected and analyzed. While this change results in the appearance of a skipped year, the Core Data Service runs sequentially, with no years skipped.

CDS 2012 KEY FINDINGS

  • Major change from FY 2009/10 to FY 2010/11: 50% of institutions experienced an increase in central IT funding.
  • Major changes from FY 2010/11 to FY 2011/12:
    • Compensation was budgeted to increase for 72% of institutions.
    • 51% of community colleges experienced decreases in central IT staffing levels.
  • In FY 2011/12, an additional 7% of institutions began outsourcing their LMS; at those institutions, information systems staff decreased by 17%.
