Seminars on Academic Computing (SAC)

The final SAC meeting was held in August 2007. EDUCAUSE will create a new IT leadership event that builds on SAC’s respected foundation and provides a new vision for the profession and its increasingly strategic role in higher education. The former SAC Board will support EDUCAUSE in an advisory capacity in planning for a new event, currently scheduled for 2009. Both the SAC Board and EDUCAUSE leadership believe that more time will help us to effectively plan and develop a new, quality IT leadership program and align this event with EDUCAUSE strategic direction and the leadership development needs of the higher education IT community.

From 1970 to 2007, the Seminars on Academic Computing were held annually for senior IT leaders in higher education. Components included the Directors Leadership Seminar, the Executive Leadership Seminar, and the New Directors Leadership Seminar. These programs are no longer offered. SAC Scholarships

The SAC Founders Scholarship program was designed to encourage new IT leadership professionals who had been in campus IT leadership attend the meeting and become part of the SAC community. SAC Founders Scholarship Recipients
