1) Promoting the PMO and the value of Project Management to the organization 2) Project management, portfolio, and collaboration systems - what are institutions using and any suggestions for adopting a system? text chat: Sherri Yerk-Zwickl @ Lehigh: shy2@lehigh.edu Paula @ Ithaca College: Thank you for all the great ideas! Dan@Marquette: At Marquette we use Project Server 2010 moving to Project Server 2013 Scott Sax - Loyola University Maryland: We use AtTask at Loyola and I believe that one of their new features that they will be releasing is some integration with Google stuff, but not positive...but they do have an API to do custom integration Scott Sax - Loyola University Maryland: Just looked up and AtTask's release will integrate with Google Drive/Docs Wayne North: @ Dan @ Marquette - I'd like to know what PMO resources are required to Administer Project Server 2010. Dan@Marquette: I the functionall admin (parttime) and a fractional FTE for the server side management. Chuck Ray - Nazareth College: We are using liquidplanner and we do set up packages for opertional tasks from project tasks. Dan@Marquette: When we start a project the line manager will determine what % they can allocate to the project them that will determine the timeline of the project. Then the negotiations begin between the PM and line manager. Dan@Marquette: Time tracking projects only Scott Sax - Loyola University Maryland: we are partially doing time tracking Tee@Champlain College: not yet but are going to start soon Jeff Overholtzer, Washington & Lee: time tracking: to a limited extent Patricia / University of Cincinnati: lack of cooperation from line managers Rhian@Edinburgh: Edinburgh University Projects Website - www.projects.ed.ac.uk - used for documentation, status reporting etc! John P - GMU: it would be a big culture change, but we are starting to look into it right now as a result of analysis by our auditors. In a nutshell, it is hard Jeff Overholtzer, Washington & Lee: sorry mike is not working! Jeff Overholtzer, Washington & Lee: But... support from CTO is crucial (we have it) - he's interested in getting baseline numbers on how we spend our time Jennifer @ The New School: @ Chuck Ray - can we spak offline about Liquid Planner? Chuck Ray - Nazareth College: @Jennifer - I would be be happy to talk cray9@naz.edu jill@cornell: We found it more difficult with folks working on operations rather than project work like application programmers, etc. They don't understand the value and feel it's too hard to break down their time. Patricia / University of Cincinnati: Sherri thank you so much!! Jeff Overholtzer, Washington & Lee: Some of our programmers have decided for themselves that time-tracking is in their interest. They are pulled in many directions and time tracking potentially give them leverage to adjust expectations with clients Dan@Marquette: Thanks all John P - GMU: Thank you. Rhian@Edinburgh: Thanks! Scott Sax - Loyola University Maryland: thanks! Jeff Overholtzer, Washington & Lee: thanks Paula @ Ithaca College: Thanks Tee@Champlain College: Thank you very helpful info! Sherri Yerk-Zwickl @ Lehigh: Thanks everyone - see you next month!
