Session Type: Teaching and Learning
This presentation's focus is on identifying best practices for designing experiential courses that incorporate social and mobile technologies. Experience-based courses often include elements of service learning, embedded instruction, and community engagement. When properly leveraged, social technologies can enhance these experiences and provide new avenues for learning. This presentation discusses ways that technologies like Flickr, Twitter, Facebook, and audio/visual platforms can add new dimensions. The presenters will discuss these technologies within the context of a case study of a traveling course on social stratification conducted in the summer of 2009.
