Campuses are constantly looking for ways to expand student access to computing resources, empower faculty, and reduce energy use. With shrinking IT budgets and staff, this isn't easy. Learn about the key drivers behind Mercer University's VDI strategy, design, and implementation and which virtualization technologies provide students with easy access to labs and applications without leaving their dorms; deliver complex applications like SPSS, Visual Studio, and more; deploy fully customizable virtual desktops to faculty and staff; eliminate capital costs of PC refresh and minimize desktop energy consumption; and reduce the operational costs of desktop patching, update, and support.
