Centered on creating and sustaining a "new culture of learning," this presentation examines the successful Miami University model for using faculty learning communities-adapted to "nudge and guide change"-as learning-based, sustainable faculty development in which Toffler's culture ("learn, unlearn, relearn") emerges through interaction. Cross-disciplinary and cross-institutional faculty learning communities (FLCs) are thriving around the globe. These groups are committed to instructional excellence, innovation in approaches to pedagogical challenges, and exploration of educational technologies.
