Innovative Models for Integrating Information Literacy Across Campus

Budget cuts and a changing generation of faculty and students have forced many libraries to reconsider how they provide information literacy instruction. At the University of Arizona, librarians have developed new online approaches that go beyond the traditional one-shot, face-to-face session. Presenters will discuss three successful models of information literacy integration, including developing and teaching credit-bearing online courses, collaborating with faculty to integrate online modules into core courses, and integrating customized library resources into the course management system. There will be a discussion of the challenges and benefits of each model and how they can be adapted for different institutions.
