EDUCAUSE actively engages with U.S. and international colleges and universities, corporations, foundations, government, and other nonprofit associations to further the mission of transforming higher education through the use of information technology. While we are an association predominantly based in the United States, we recognize that "uncommon thinking for the common good" can emerge anywhere in the world. Our strategic direction is to serve as a leader for the profession, convening the community on significant technology issues facing member institutions and higher education overall.
EDUCAUSE is proud to count over 260 non-U.S. institutions among its members. We are equally proud that their participation extends to the leadership of the EDUCAUSE community, including representation on the EDUCAUSE Board of Directors.
The breadth of professionals represented, our shared mission, and our collaborative spirit reflect our strong commitment to advancing the mission of higher education and growing the IT profession. As an international member of EDUCAUSE, your organization will be able to stay abreast of what's happening in higher education IT in the U.S. and be able to connect and collaborate with over 2,300 member organizations.

In addition, a number of international institutions and organizations find great value in the EDUCAUSE Core Data Service, a comprehensive benchmarking project on institutional IT environments and practices; others subscribe to the EDUCAUSE Center for Analysis and Research and are members of the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative.
Membership is open to organizations rather than individuals. Each organization has a primary representative who is the liaison for membership. Colleges and universities outside the United States and Canada who are recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU) may join EDUCAUSE for a flat annual fee of $1,210. Organizations may join at any time during the year at a prorated dues amount.
Given the diversity of processes and standards for determining academic quality around the world, the association utilizes the List of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) provided by the International Association of Universities (IAU) to determine an international institution’s eligibility for EDUCAUSE membership.
