We have used the Alertus Desktop for several years.  All of our university owned computers (windows & Macs) are added automatically.   Users can add personally owned devices if they choose.   We don't use the Alertus interface.  Instead we activate using our Rave Emergency Notification system.  It works very well.   The initiator of an alert simply has to select Alertus Desktop along with our normal text and email for most alerts.   One interface reaches many modes of communication. The alerts reach the devices in less than a minute.  The user must acknowledge before doing anything else on the computer.  We can run reports to see what computers received and acknowledged the alert.  It is an important component of our Emergency Notification system.

We were using e@Campus from OmniAlert but are finishing the set up of Campus EAI's notification system that is part of our portal deployment. It allows for email, text, and popup alerts on the portal landing page and well as push to an alert mobile app. So far testing has proven very satisfying. Tom Thomas H.
