Hello all

I was wondering if any of you had any experience with of recommendations of digital media transcription services (ie podcasts) for students with disabilities.  Additionally, I am also interested to know how you have handled this at your institution.

Thanks!
JT

JT,

We have used Automatic Sync Technologies http://www.automaticsync.com extensively for transcription and captioning, and we’ve had excellent results with their work.

From personal experience, I know that transcription is laborious. IIRC, some of the tests we did showed that for every 1hr of transcription took up to 8 hours to complete. Considering that, using a service like AST can be cost-effective.
