Data Privacy Day (DPD) is an annual effort to empower people to protect their privacy and control their digital footprint, as well as escalate the protection of privacy and data as everyone's priority.

EDUCAUSE celebrates Data Privacy Day on January 28 in conjunction with StaySafeOnline.org and many other Data Privacy Day Champions. Every year we partner to provide activities, resources, and promotional tools to help you ensure your campus community is respecting privacy, safeguarding data, and enabling trust.

One day is not nearly enough time to focus on the privacy topics most important to higher education, so colleges and universities are encouraged to plan awareness and activities and events throughout the months of January and February. EDUCAUSE will offer a free webinar, new guest blogs in the Security Matters column, and other activities in early 2017.
