ABSTRACT
The establishment of policies and standards that govern responsible use of computing resources is a laudable undertaking for colleges and universities. However, the very nature of managing incidents of student misuse requires that we reach out to new and perhaps unfamiliar authorities. Putting your campus policy into practice will be difficult unless you have developed the necessary partnerships within your campus community to effectuate its implementation. If your campus does not have an acceptable use policy such partnerships are all the more important. This session will provide information on how three different campuses are addressing complaints of misuse. More importantly, the panelists will draw upon their combined experiences in higher education as student disciplinary officer, residence hall director, human relations grievance officer, attorney, student affairs administrator, and IT professional to help participants in the identification of key strategic partners on their campus.
