Credible multi-media mail, well integrated access to netnews groups, animation, simulation, live documents, and a host of other features are available to the casual web user - if you know how to use them. Learn about these features, plus some unexpected uses of the web, and some search techniques you may have missed.
Summary: Yesterday, a web browser was just a simple tool for looking at World Wide Web documents. Today, it is a sophisticated Swiss Army knife of the Internet. The browser can be a general purpose local viewer of every object (text, sound, image, movie) you can imagine. It can do multi-media mail and multi-media news groups. There's Java, Java script, Internet Studio, cookies, ShockWave and a few new things to contend with almost daily. Yesterday it was enough to know what a URL was. Today you need a course in URLology. This talk will do that and much more.
Will web browsers replace mail systems, news readers, database systems, and so forth? Learn how to use all the new web features effectively and to understand their impact on your organization.
