| Adobe gives people the power to express and use information in more imaginative and meaningful ways. |
Based in San Jose, California, Adobe Systems Incorporated develops and supports products to help people express and use information in more imaginative and meaningful ways, across all print and electronic media.
Founded in 1982, Adobe helped launch the desktop publishing revolution. Today, the company offers a market-leading line of application software and type products for creating and distributing visually rich communication materials; licenses its industry-standard technologies to major hardware manufacturers, software developers, and service providers; and offers integrated software solutions to businesses of all sizes.
Involvement in Higher Education
Adobe recognizes its responsibility toward higher education and addresses the needs of the education community through affordable education pricing on academic editions of all Adobe applications and technical support. In 1995 Adobe launched its first sales and marketing team dedicated to the educational community. This new team quickly recognized CAUSE as an extremely valuable partner and resource, and through collaborative efforts, launched Adobe's popular Education License Program.
Adobe is also a founding member of the New Media Center Program helping institutions of higher education enhance teaching and learning through the use of new media. Bringing together pioneers in the new media field from academia and industry, NMC creates a collaborative network of institutions and corporations serving as a catalyst to integrate new media into education.
The Adobe educational team also hosted the first Academic Advisory Council in November 1996 to gather feedback from luminaries from higher education institutions around the country.

Education License Program
Adobe introduced the Education License Program for those institutions needing at least twenty copies of any one Adobe Product. The Adobe ELP not only offers the best pricing available, but also provides one serial number to manage, and concurrency and subscription options. Concurrency gives you the ability to share the ELP license with users over a network. However, the number of core licenses you purchase dictates the number of people that may use the software at any one time. Subscription entitles you to all upgrades, updates, and bug fixes for one year. When your contract expires, you can chose to renew your subscription option for another year. No more un-budgeted upgrades!
