What may need to change in methods of learning and teaching?

• The notion that learning needs to takes place on campus should be replaced with a commitment that it can often take place anytime, anywhere.
• Current views about who accredits an education and how.
• Views on who the "faculty" are.
• Commitment to the lecture as the predominant mode of instructional delivery.
• The roles that academe plays in assuring standards of quality education.
• The isolated learner model should be replaced with a "distributed cognition", "collaborative learning" model.
• The one-approach-fits-all teaching model should be replaced with more methods that allow education to be customized to the individual learner.
• Evaluation structures: for both students and faculty.

Also!  There's another question that needs to be asked:  

What do we need to retain in our current methods of learning and teaching?

• Standards of quality.
• Quality teachers.
• Student-teacher interactions.
• Teaching that focuses on critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Disciplinary efforts: ongoing research in disciplinary areas carried out over years.
